WARNING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation for assembly
Please be very careful when assembling your product. Wear safety shoes and safety goggles when drilling, sawing or cutting. Always wear gloves when working to protect your hands from injury.
Never carry out cutting and sawing work towards the body and never position your fingers in the cutting area.
Take particular care when working on a ladder or on a roof. Ensure that the ladder is levelled on firm ground and leaned against a fixed object.
Please do not leave any sharp or heavy objects lying carelessly in places from where they could fall or injure other people. Wood splinters are produced when working with wood. To minimise the risk of injury from wood splinters, we recommend wearing safety gloves.
Keep children away from the places where the garden product is assembled. In addition, please ensure that children do not come into contact with tools, ladders or house accessories. Do not allow children to climb ladders.
Important
- To ensure the safety and durability of the product, it is important to protect it against weather conditions with anchors, storm battens and roofing felt battens, even if these materials are not included with the product.
- In winter weather conditions, the roof of a garden shed must be protected from excessive snow loads. Avoid walking on the roof when clearing snow.
Safe handling of glass
1. carry glass with both hands.
2. NEVER carry glass under your arm or above your head.
3. always work in pairs to move large panes of glass.
4. use the correct hand and body position so that you are not in the ‘line of fire’ in the event of breakage.
5 DO NOT stand or walk on broken glass.
6. NEVER break glass into smaller pieces with your foot or hand.
7. do NOT hold on to broken glass or try to stop falling glass, but keep a safe distance or move to a safe place.
8. do NOT reach for the glass or catch it by the corner.
9. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings and the other people around you.
10. inspect the packaging and glass before unpacking to minimise potential hazards.
11. make sure that there are no people in the area where the glass is being moved.
Emergency preparation
It is important to be prepared for possible accidents involving glass products. Here are some tips for emergency preparation:
First Aid: Keep basic first aid supplies in the house to respond to injuries caused by broken glass. In particular, you should keep antiseptic agents and bandages for cuts and minor injuries to hand. Sterile gauze bandages, plasters and scissors should also be part of the first aid kit.
Emergency numbers: Keep emergency numbers in an easily accessible place. Hang up the telephone numbers of the emergency services, fire brigade and close family members in a clearly visible place.
Safe handling of fireplaces/appliances and electric stoves in garden saunas, barbecue kotas and hot tubs
The manufacturer's standards and regulations and local regulations for installation and operation must be complied with!
THE GENERAL FIRE SAFETY REGULATIONS MUST ALWAYS BE OBSERVED!
Read and observe the following safety regulations:
- Never light a fire with petrol or other substances unsuitable for this purpose
- Keep devices for lighting fires out of the reach of children
- Never leave children unsupervised around appliances that are lit or otherwise generate a lot of heat
- Do not store flammable materials or liquids in the immediate vicinity of the appliances.
- When handling hot surfaces, hold them by the handles provided or use heat-resistant protective gloves.
- The base of a fireplace, the body of the ash drawer and the separate ash pan become extremely hot during use. Do not touch the unprotected parts during use without heat-resistant protective gloves.
- Ensure that the appliance is securely fastened to its base and never lean against the appliance or the smoke hood/smoke outlet.
- The fireplace is not intended for burning waste. Never burn disposable crockery, plastic, cardboard or similar materials. Burning particles can also form and be carried away by the air and cause fires in the surrounding area.
- Avoid burning splintery types of wood such as fir, birch or alder in your fireplace.
- Always use an appropriate fire. The height of the flames must not exceed the centre between the fireplace and the flue. Too large a fire and too high a temperature can damage the fireplace and its surroundings.
- Ensure that the necessary fire-fighting equipment is available near the place of use and instruct users on the correct behaviour in a dangerous situation.
- Do not start cooking until the surface of the fuel used has turned to ash and the possible odours have subsided on first use.
- When setting up the stove, pay attention to the amount of smoke produced so that neighbours or your own living space are not affected.
- Do not leave any external electrical devices such as telephones, radios, televisions etc. within a radius of 1.5 metres of a sauna or hot tub. Never attempt to operate an electrical device that is not intended for this purpose in saunas or hot tubs.
Never leave a fireplace/appliance unattended during use and be careful when using it.
CAUTION
Carbon monoxide (CO) is produced by incomplete combustion or defects in poorly maintained wood, oil or gas appliances.
- Carbon monoxide hazard - DEVICES powered by wood, oil or gas can produce carbon monoxide (no odour). Do not use in enclosed spaces (for example: car, tent, caravan), this can lead to death. These appliances may only be used in an area above the ground, with adequate ventilation, without dead spaces where gas leaks & combustion products can be quickly dispersed by the wind.
- Only use these devices in the position intended for the device.
- This appliance may only be serviced by an authorised person.
- Do not use these appliances if they are damaged or show signs of wear.
- Do not move the appliances during operation.
- Ensure that the flue is clear by regularly checking the flue for blockages caused by leaves, branches or animals and removing them if necessary.
IF YOU ARE NOT SURE what to do, contact specialised personnel or your dealer.
Safe handling of electric stoves.
Safety instructions for assembly, installation and use
Fire hazard and risk of burns!
Only have the installation carried out by trained specialists.
Incorrect or improper electrical installation may result in electric shock or fire.
Incorrect or inadequate ventilation can lead to overheating, fire or a high concentration of carbon monoxide.
- Observe the specifications of the applicable technical standards and regulations for electrical installation.
- Observe the manufacturer's safety and installation instructions.
Sauna stones become very hot when heated.
- Only ever use stones that are intended for use in heaters.
- Always ensure that no hot stones or parts of them fall out of the container provided.
- The appliance must not be placed on an easily flammable surface.
Never add more infusion agent to the infusion water than specified on the manufacturer's packaging. Never use alcohol or undiluted concentrates. Caution: Fire hazard!
During operation, ovens and glass surfaces can become very hot, so always maintain the necessary safety distances.
Do not place any objects on ovens, protective grilles or stones as these can ignite and cause fires.
Danger to health in heavily heated rooms!
The use of saunas, hot tubs and grill kotas can cause serious damage to the health of persons with impaired health and even death.
Operation by children and persons with reduced mental capacity!
Children and persons with reduced mental capacity could be in great danger if left unattended during operation and/or use.
Children and persons with reduced mental capacity must not start the appliance, change settings or carry out maintenance and cleaning work.
General safety and warning information for children's play equipment in the garden
Play equipment must be assembled by adults.
Ignoring these instructions, altering the original design or any misuse of the equipment can lead to serious injury or even death.
Any modification or non-compliance with these instructions may jeopardise safety.
Only use the equipment under adult supervision.
Play equipment must be checked at regular intervals for any damage or decay. Screw connections must be checked at regular intervals. Moving metal parts must be oiled regularly. If non-repairable faults and/or damage are discovered during the checks, you are obliged to prohibit the use of the equipment immediately and to remove it.
Caution!
1. choking hazard: The assembly packs and kits contain small parts that can be inhaled or swallowed, posing a choking hazard. Ensure that there are no small children in the immediate vicinity of the assembly area during assembly.
2. beware of sharp edges, pinching and wood splinters: sand down sharp and/or uneven edges of the wooden components and remove splinters if necessary. Avoid the risk of entrapment by ensuring that sloping stairs, slides or other moving parts of the play equipment do not pose a risk of entrapment.
3. safety distance due to risk of collision: To ensure safety and functionality in the play area, a free space of at least 200 cm must be maintained around the respective play equipment. Interactions between different play elements in particular can lead to collisions and injuries if the movement of one element affects the other. In addition, a minimum distance must be maintained between the floor and a swinging element in order to avoid accidents.
4. entanglement risk: Entanglement risks from clothing cords and hair during activities such as sliding down a slide or climbing rope pose a significant safety risk. To prevent this, eliminate V-shaped openings on playground equipment and ensure that hoodies and jackets with cords are not worn on playground equipment.
5. entrapment: Avoid the risk of finger injuries in openings, slots and cracks no deeper than 10 mm and openings wider than 30 mm in any direction on platforms and standing surfaces to prevent the entrapment of hands, arms, legs or feet after assembly.
6. fall hazard: Playground equipment with a height of 150 cm or more exceeds the critical fall height of 150 cm and is therefore unsuitable for children under 3 years of age. Do not place the play equipment on hard surfaces such as concrete, tarmac or other hard surfaces. Carpet or artificial turf laid on hard surfaces also pose a risk of serious injury in the event of a fall. It must be installed on a shock-absorbing surface, both under the play equipment and within a 200 cm radius of the entire play equipment.
7. skin burns: If the slide is exposed to direct sunlight, it can become so hot that it causes blisters when used. Rapid lowering on ropes can also lead to minor burns and abrasions.
8. risk of suffocation from packaging materials: Plastic packaging materials such as bags and film pose a considerable risk of suffocation for children. Even a thin layer of plastic packaging can suffocate a child and therefore be fatal. Keep plastic packaging away from children.
9. entanglement: swings with a long rope should not be able to be pulled over the starting area of slides or poles to prevent the head or upper body from becoming entangled, which in combination with a forced sliding movement can lead to strangulation.
10. stability: Inadequate assembly, installation on uneven surfaces or improper anchoring of the play equipment can lead to loose and unstable structures that can ultimately tip over, especially during intensive use. If several children swing or climb vigorously, the centre of gravity may shift, increasing the risk of tipping over. The maximum number of users is indicated in the specific assembly manual of the equipment.
11. protruding parts: After installation, look for protruding parts and make sure that they are covered or flush with the wooden surface so that there are no sharp edges.
12. risk of falling: Avoid the risk of falling due to tripping or slipping over cracks or damaged paving stones, uneven tiles or rubber mats and loose objects such as toys or debris on the floor by replacing or removing these hazards. Tree roots or stones protruding from the ground and improper anchoring and exposed foundations under equipment also pose a risk and may cause injury. Rain, ice or mud can make surfaces slippery, and inadequate drainage can cause puddles, resulting in muddy areas and wet or icy play equipment.
Packaging
Do not simply throw away packaging material! Paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard packaging, as well as plastic packaging parts, should be placed in the appropriate collection containers.
